C3 WAL: This is a great church with a huge heart for bringing change into their community - loving God and loving people. We want to continue to give help and support to this church - they were so blessed by the gift of a bicycle from us earlier this year.
C3 KITGUM . FARMING PROJECT: We are currently working on a new project to work with locals in northern Uganda. The aim is to purchase a plow, cattle and seed for crops. We will also be organising a training programme to upskill and equip people in agriculture and farming techniques. Education in the areas of sustainable farming, organic farming, environmental management and awareness, small business development and management is an essential part of building an effective functioning community here.
Recently in July 2010, Ps Dean visited the team in Uganda. Please click on the links below to view some of the video clips taken there.

SECONDARY SCHOOL AND UNIVERSITY: With the Secondary school well into its planning stages, our focus shifts further out to the establishing of a tertiary institution and university on the lower slopes of Kilimanjaro. Close to the outskirts of the bustling township of Moshi. Twenty acres has now been purchased on which maize is currently been grown to feed the students at the live-in primary school. This is a very exciting project as it will fulfill a great need that exists in the region. This tertiary institution has within its charter document the vision to accommodate 70% of its students from the poorest backgrounds, including those who have lost parents. This would be a fairly unique vision for a University. The Tanzanians existing Universities are very welcoming of further tertiary institutions as their capability to handle the vast population of Tanzania is stretched to the limit. Government support is strong, with up to 100% of fees available for means tested students, and makes for great accessibility of the tertiary courses that will be offered. The vision is this to assist a child from a dirt floor hut, to gain the education and life skills needed in order to live their dreams. Currently we are in the process of finalising the charter document for the university, and are drawing upon professionals in New Zealand as well as in Tanzania to complete this. The University board in Tanzania is made up of a wide range of nationals who have both the passion and vision to make this institution a reality.

Random Act of Kindness DayRAK is a National Day in New Zealand where everyone around the country is encouraged to perform "random acts of kindness". In an ever changing world, where life is faster, families are busier, people are lonelier, there's a new opportunity to look beyond one's self, for no personal gain other than the fantastic sense of making someone else's life brighter! On the 1st of September we take the focus off our own lives and look for opportunities to do an act of kindness to others ~ maybe by mowing a lawn, shouting a stranger a coffee, giving flowers, or providing some needed service. In 2007 we threw a fun fair for Koru School in Mangere this featured free face-painting, free sausages, free candyfloss, free entertainment, free everything. Over 150 members of the church joined together to pull off what was an amazing day in the lives of some of these children. In 2010, we are going to RAK Baily Road School on Saturday 4th September. We are expecting the whole school there as well as all of our church to support it with jumping castles, BBQ, music and heaps and heaps of fun for the school. Please come down and enjoy the day with Baily Road School and C3 Auckland. Visit the web site here. |
