There is another call going out to thousands of young people today. The call to fight with ISIS. 12,000 foreigners from around 50 countries;
France – 700
Belgium – 250
Australia – 250
England – 500
Germany – 270
Sweden – 150
Why are so many young men and women going to fight with ISIS?
Because we are created to give our lives to a greater cause. They want to be part of something that matters. It is exposing the lack of purpose in our secular society. They need to hear the call of God. The call of God can be presented as we rise up. We are the carriers of the call.
How we can release the purpose of God in our lives?
Isaiah 6:6-8 NIV Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
God is looking for people. He is looking for people that he can send out to represent him. To reach lost people. To bring his message. People who are willing.
Romans 10:13-15 For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
The only way the call of God can go out is through an active and relevant church
1. Have an encounter
Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.
Have a fresh encounter with God. Before anyone can be used by God they need that encounter moment. They need to get the anointing of God upon them. The touch of His presence and a transformed heart.
2. Hear the call of God
Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
No surprise that when Isaiah encounters God he then starts to hear the call. There is a call going out from heaven. Most people aren’t listening. Tune your spiritual ears and hear the heartbeat of God.
Volunteers are needed. Can you hear his call?
3. Respond to the call
And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
People will give all this time for free and lay down their lives for Sea Shepherd, ISIS, sometimes a local club or school, why not the call of God? What will we give for the cause of Christ? This is the great call for every life.
Isaiah responded and became one of the greatest prophets and wrote the Book of Isaiah. It is my favourite prophetic book.
Where would we be without;
Isaiah 2 – Prophecy of the church – in the last days the mountain of the Lords house will be lifted highest of all. The greatest place on Earth.
Isaiah 9 – prophecy of Jesus – for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government will be upon his shoulders and his name will be called Wonderful Counselor the mighty God
Isaiah 13 – Babylon will never be inhabited again, it will remain empty for generation after generation
Isaiah 40 – Those who wait upon The Lord will renew their strength
Isaiah 54 – Enlarge the place of your tent
Isaiah 61 The spirit of the sovereign Lord is upon me because The Lord has anointed me to preach good news to the poor
Isaiah’s call was to speak for God to coming generations and to write his amazing book. Imagine what God has planned for you?
It all starts with serving. Serving leads you to God’s purpose. In serving you find the purpose of your life! I see many people in this church, serving each week, working to build something bigger than themselves. We couldn’t do all the good works without them.
I want to encourage you to keep serving, let us not become weary
